Due to circumstances out of our control, the Ogden, UT Music Makes Music Benefit Show has been postponed until September. We’ll fill you in with more details in the near future.
In the meantime, Going Second is writing for their new album and has some great things going on there. We’ll hopefully be able to get it mostly finished by the end of the summer and have something late this year or spring of next year. We’ll be hitting the road hard in September and will be touring through June, with a small break for Christmas and New Year’s Day. Stay posted for more updates soon.
Last leg of Music Makes Music Spring 2010 Tour

And….go. We’re on our way to Los Angeles to finish up the last leg of the Spring 2010 Music Makes Music tour. For some reason, it’s always got to rain or snow on our way out of SLC too. It must be a G2 touring tradition or something. The weather in LA should be awesome though. We’re all excited.
This tour has been so much fun and we’ve seen thousands upon thousands of teenagers that went nuts at shows. Things are looking great for the future as we’re already booked through most of the rest of the year, with some holes here and there that will be ironed out in the coming month or so. We’re all very excited to continue the work we’re doing. Look for some new music out at some point either late this year or early next year also.
Well, I’d better run and have some snacks. I’ll keep you posted with more updates.

Going Second will be playing this Wednesday, May 26th at Club Karamba in Salt Lake City. We’ll be playing with Peruvian rock star Pedro Suarez-Vertiz. We’re pretty excited about it. We played this club for the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and had a blast. We expect nothing less this Wednesday.
We will be going on at 9pm and it will be a blast. Come one come all. Get your tickets over at Smithtix.

UPDATE 5/24/2010: Check out some video from the Glendale show in our Video section
Today we played at Glendale Middle School for Music Makes Music and had so much fun. This was definitely one of the best venues we’ve had this tour. The kids were so cool and super excited. Also, one of our new sponsors, Shaka Laka came and had some Lip Blaka for every kid there. It was so cool of them and the kids loved it. It’s awesome stuff and you’ll never look at normal chapstick again once you’ve tried it.
We’ll have some more pictures and audio shortly. Check out some pics below in the meantime.

Bryant Middle School
UPDATE: 05/19/2010 – The show at Bryant rocked! The kids were so cool and we had a ton of fun meeting with them afterwards. Check out some audio from the show in our Audio section!
Going Second has returned from California to….Salt Lake City. That’s right, hometown show coming up on Tuesday. We’ll be heading over tomorrow, er today, to setup and get a feel for the place. We’ll be playing at Bryant Middle School for Music Makes Music.
It should be a sweet show. We haven’t played a school in our hometown since December I believe. We’re all pretty stoked about it. Rumor has it that we’re doing a new cover also. In fact, we may have even debuted it at our last show in Redlands, CA. It might also have the words “they taped over your mouth, scribbled out the truth with their lies. Your little spies” in it. Oh, and also, there may just be some audio of it after the show in our Audio section.

Yesterday was Day #4 in California and it was super awesome. Going Second played at Moore Middle School, as an ambassador for Music Makes Music, in Redlands, CA. It was one of the coolest schools we’ve visited and the kids were super cool. There will actually be some snippets/songs from the shows in the Audio section. Head over there to download them!
California Days 2 and 3

Pics after the “read more” – Yesterday was a great day for G2 and Music Makes Music. We met up with a number of sponsors-to-be-named shortly and had some really great visits. We saw much of LA, including Josh’s alma-mater Otis College of Art & Design. That was pretty rad and there was some sweet artwork on display there. Wes would’ve been jealous had he seen some of the video game art that was there.
Included in the day’s festivities was a trip to Compton to have some Rally’s (we were clos by), a trip to Venice Beach, and watching “Land of the Lost” with Paulo Diaz, a good friend of ours. It was a great day, all in all. It’s been awesome to have good weather again. It’d been pretty cold and dreary in Salt Lake during our time off. Read the rest of this entry »
